Can We Really Know Anything in an Era of Fake News?
President Trump has polished the art of labeling stories as “fake news.” But fake news isn’t new, and it isn’t purely American. The debate around fake news cuts right to the heart of whether anyone really believes anyone… about anything. From bias and suspicion to flat out distrust of the media, what can we, as educators, do about this topic that is on the minds of all our students? In this webinar, Dr. Don Kettl, Professor at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, at the University of Texas, explores the heart of the fake news issue and provide tips on how to help students address the phenomenon. After all, there are important, lasting issues here that will endure long after the Trump administration ends.
